TriPoint Properties provides a hands-on approach to ownership, management, and stewardship.

TriPoint Properties is a new property management venture in North Carolina, founded by industry veterans who have owned and operated institutional real estate across asset classes and geographies. Since entering the Carolinas in the mid-2010s, we have cultivated strong business relationships with vendors and service companies throughout the state in order to support an enterprise-level management platform.

From day-to-day processes like rent collection, bookkeeping, and vendor coordination, to high-stakes transitional objectives such as due diligence and capital planning. Managing real estate involves all sorts of complexities and singularities, which is why we treat each property as a separate project with its own distinct needs and strategies.

Meet Our Founders

MAX PLATOFF

Managing Director

Mr. Platoff has worked with Mr. Schneider and Mr. Kaufman for over five years and has directed asset and property management for dozens of multifamily and commercial properties in the Carolinas. In addition to overseeing regional management and accounting for TriPoint’s portfolio, Mr. Platoff consults with private investors on acquisition and management objectives. He currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife Grace.

JOEL SCHNEIDER

Partner

Now based in Winston-Salem, NC, Mr. Schneider has over 35 years of experience in the commercial and residential real estate and construction industries. He founded Joel Schneider Construction Corp. (JSCC) in 1989 and continues to serve as its President and CEO. JSCC specializes in the construction and renovation of commercial spaces. Mr. Schneider’s broad experience with large-scale rehabilitation and the insurance adjustment process make him an indispensable resource, especially when dealing with value-add properties with major capital needs. Mr. Schneider is the owner of TPP’s main office, located as 1315 S Main Street in Winston-Salem, NC.

Shawanna Whitaker

SHAWANNA WHITAKER

Partner

Ms. Whitaker is an accomplished professional with 8 years of experience in the hotel industry and 5 years in property management, holding prestigious designations such as Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS). Also a licensed NC Realtor, Ms. Whitaker’s passion for the real estate industry led her to establish Phoenix Realty Management, specializing in single-family residential properties. Her expertise, combined with a dedication to excellence, positions her as a trusted partner in navigating the complexities of property management and real estate transactions. She is currently based in Greensboro, NC.

DAVID KAUFMAN

Partner

Mr. Kaufman has owned and operated commercial real estate for over 25 years. He acquired Andoreale Corporation in 1991, which manages commercial office properties throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and Greenwich, CT. In 2016, Mr. Kaufman began purchasing residential and commercial properties in North Carolina to own and manage, and these assets now make up the majority of his portfolio. While he still lives in New York, Mr. Kaufman is highly involved in all aspects of back-office operations and makes frequent trips to North Carolina, where his son attends university. He and Mr. Schneider have been friends and partners since childhood.
